After a stroll on the beach you won’t need to venture very far to discover San Diego’s favorite winery. Gianni Buonomo Vintners is located just two blocks from the sand and surf in the coastal community of Ocean Beach.

Gianni Buonomo Vintners Wines on the BeachThis diminutive urban winery brings in grapes from the Sierra Foothills in El Dorado County and from Washington state to produce a line-up of truly exceptional wines. Their wines have won Gold and Double Gold medals in some of the most prestigious national and international competitions.

Formally trained winemaker Keith Rolle prides himself on featuring something other than another Chardonnay or Cabernet Sauvignon.  His esoteric collection of wine is not easily found elsewhere. Tasting room visitors can sample exotic varietals like Blaufränkisch, with Austrian ancestry, Charbono, originating from the Savoie region of France and Lagrein, native to the Trentino-Alto Adige area of Italy.

The tasting room is open to the public Wednesday through Friday from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Saturday from 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm and Sunday from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm.Gianni Buonomo Vintners Entrance
