San Diego Wine Delivery – Free for Peninsula Residents

Residents living in the zip codes 92106 and 92107 are now eligible to receive wine delivery from the Ocean Beach based winery Gianni Buonomo Vintners. This service is complimentary during the stay-at-home orders.

The order process involves three simple steps:

STEP 1             SELECTING YOUR WINE
Click on the link below and then select either REDS or WHITES. You may mix-and-match as you please.

STEP 2             SHOP AS A GUEST OR CREATE AN ACCOUNT
You are not required to create an account to purchase wine, however it does hasten processing of your future orders.
After the order has been received, we’ll contact you (by phone or text) to schedule your delivery.

STEP 3              POLISH WINE GLASSES, LOCATE CORKSCREW, PREPARE DINNER
We will contact you by phone when we are close to your residence so you can be ready for your delivery.

It’s just that easy.

We will drop-off your wine, move away from your door and make sure we have visual confirmation before heading off to the next delivery.
No signature is required.

The photo below is of our delivery fleet so you’ll know what to expect.
On the left is Al and his 1996 Toyota Pick-up. On the right is Keith and his 2001 Nissan Sentra.
They are both poised to exceed your complimentary wine delivery expectations.

Both of the delivery boys will be wearing masks when they drop off your wine.  Prior to delivery, they will have been sanitized with 170 proof (85%) distilled spirits.
(the bottles will have been sanitized, not the delivery boys)

Over the past five years Gianni Buonomo Vintners has relied largely on hospitality, special events and foot traffic to drive our business on Newport Avenue. We’ve developed strong bonds with the community and cultivated lifelong relationships with our wine club members.  The stay-at-home orders have pressured us to adapt and rethink the way we do business.

Wine and wineries play an integral role in the lives of many Californians. In fact, the California wine industry was responsible for over $40 billion in sales in 2018. For this reason, and thanks to the California Alcoholic Beverage Control, restrictions for wineries have been eased and we are allowed to remain open, but cannot offer tastings or sell glasses of wine in the Tasting Room.

Should you decided to venture out of the house to stretch your legs, our abbreviated Tasting Room hours are as follows:
Wednesday – Friday   1:00 pm  to 5:00 pm
Saturday             11:00 am to 2:00 pm

We invite you to put your mask on when entering the winery and enjoy some of our amazing hand sanitizer.
We are allowing only 6 customers at a time in the Tasting Room.

Also note that we ship wine all over the United States.

Should this pilot program prove successful enough to stay in our Newport Avenue location, we intend to offer a similar service throughout San Diego County.

Let us bring the wine to you!
