Gianni Buonomo Vintners has just wrapped-up the biggest vintage ever at their new Ocean Beach winery. Just over 26 tons of grapes were fermented, pressed and put into barrels over a period of eight weeks.

A couple of new varietals made it into the Gianni California line-up. Grenache from Amador County CA  and Petite Sirah from El Dorado County CA will be offered after a couple of years of barrel aging.

The grapes came in early and late this year. First, the Petite Sirah came in the second week of September. That is very early. Then the Grenache and Barbera arrived the second week of October. The Washington fruit came in very late this year. It all arrived in OB on October 28th.

The crush and press equipment was sanitized for the last time of the season at the end of the second week of November.
